Prof.Dr. Derya Maktav ve bu grupta yer alan birçok araştırmacı 2006 yılından beri her iki yılda bir değişik üniversitelerde düzenlenmekte olan "Uzaktan Algılama-CBS" Sempozyumunu düzenlemekte ve/veya kurullarda yer almaktadır.
